Volunteer Opportunities

Students with family members actively supporting their school show higher grades, greater participation in extracurricular activities, and higher satisfaction with their high school experience. Volunteering improves connections with the community and provides a sense of accomplishment for the person volunteering. Volunteer work helping Thunderbird High School helps your student and helps you. So, please get involved.

Open Volunteer Opportunities

1. Help with Walk-Through Registration July 23rd-26th

Volunteers help with the easy, registration steps like text book handout, ChromeBook handout, and identification cards. Volunteers helping with these tasks creates time for Thunderbird Teachers and Administrators to handle the complex registration questions. This is a fun time to connect with other volunteers and say hello to Thunderbird students and families you have not seen since the end of the last school year. Use the Signup Genius link below to join the fun.

3. Help host the Thunderbird Team welcome breakfast

Our TPA volunteers use TPA funds to create a breakfast for the Thunderbird teachers, administrators, and support crew. This is a great way to meet Thunderbird families and members of the Titan team.

Once a month, our TPA volunteers are on campus at lunchtime to put out lawn games like giant Jenga and Bags, play music, and host other interactive games or contests for the students. Our volunteer team hands out treats to the students and help them enjoy the moment. Fun Fridays is often voted the most fun volunteer experience.

When: TBD

Our Thunderbird Admin Team sets the Fun Friday schedule as part of their student incentive program and class schedule. We will post the Fun Friday schedule and volunteer sign-up as soon as the dates are available.

7. Help Host Freshman Family Night

Each year, Thunderbird hosts a Freshman Family Night on the Thunderbird campus. Our TPA will need help setting up refreshments and sharing information about volunteering. Look for the date and volunteer sign-up once we have the information.

Families and community members are invited to watch the Homecoming Parade each year and you may join the TPA. Bring a Popup tent, chairs, and some waters or snacks to connect with other families and enjoy the parade. Watch the school calendar and email updates for date and time.

11. Recruit business sponsors
